CMAIS.COM is strictly a web designing and a web hosting provider (both client side and server side). Since we're not wasting money on expensive dial-up equipment, we can afford to provide fast, reliable web service at a very affordable price. Top of Page

Why should I sign up with CMAIS.COM over another provider?
Many reasons. We offer superior web hosting to business and personal accounts with EXTREME speed with an OC-3 and multiple T-3 connections to the Internet. Will I be able to access my domain name with or without the WWW?
Yes, you will be able to access the domain name with or without the WWW in front. For example, you could access the domain name "mydomain.com" by going to "www.mydomain.com" as well as "mydomain.com". Top of Page

What do "unlimited space" and "unlimited bandwidth" really mean?
Currently we do not have any plans that offer "unlimited space" or "unlimited bandwidth." However, all of our sites offer a massive 6 Gigabyte per month bandwidth allowance, and up to 300MB of server space. We have found that this is ample space and bandwidth for even the most demanding web sites. Top of Page

Do you offer Microsoft Front Page extensions?
Yes. Microsoft Front Page 98 & 2000 extensions are currently available. Top of Page

Do you offer SSL (secure) hosting?
Yes- we offer SSL (secure) hosting but you will need to apply and pay for your SSL certificates via THWART or Versign. Top of Page

Can I install my own CGI programs? Do I get my own cgi-bin?
Yes. You get your very own cgi-bin directory with full control over your own scripts. Top of Page

Do you offer telnet or shell access?
Yes. We currently offer this option. Top of Page

How do I change my account from one package to another? Can I switch from a basic account to a domain account? Can I change my account name?
Currently we only offer domain hosting with no available add-ons. Top of Page

Can I use my private FTP account as an anonymous FTP service?
No. The private FTP account which you receive is intended for uploading and managing your web site.

Can I host my pornographic or adult entertainment material on CMAIS.com?
No. Although we respect the First Amendment rights of individuals, and oppose the censorship of the internet, we are not prepared to host sites which we consider to be objectionable.

Can I host my "warez" site on CMAIS.COM?
No. Illegal software distribution ("warez") is prohibited by U.S. law. Top of Page

Can I use CMAIS.COM to send spam?
No. CMAIS.COM defines spam to be mass, unsolicited messages (i.e. junk mail on the internet). Accounts which send spam will be immediately terminated, and will be charged theft of service fines up to $250 plus a $0.50 processing fee per complaint received CMAIS.COM is looking into mass email programming that will be accepted by the current rules given by all the major ISP's Please look at our services page for new services that we will provide.. What payment methods do you accept?
We accept Visa, Master Card, American Express, and Discover as well as personal or business check, and money orders. We prefer certified business check or money order. Payment must be made in U.S. funds drawn on a U.S. bank. Top of Page

Can I sublet, sub host or let other people have web sites on my account?
Sub hosting is prohibited on ALL accounts. Any such sites found hosting other sites without written or authorize approval will be subject to removal from the server and or fined of up to $500.00 Top of Page

What is the difference between an email alias and a POP3 email account?
An email account is a mailbox which stores email. An email alias (also known as an "email forward") is simply a pointer to an email account. Email aliases points to a CMAIS.com-maintained email account in which all mail sent to the alias account will be forwarded to your pop3 account. Top of Page

CMAIS.com is structured around email support, And support via instant messenger service (exp AOL IM and Yahoo). It gives us the flexibility to answer questions, and deal with problems in an effective and timely manner. Can I change my account name? Can I upgrade from a basic account to a domain?
You may change your basic account name (yourname.cmais.com) to anything you like plus a $15 setup fee will be applied to your account. You can upgrade to a domain account, http://www.yourname.com any time with no setup fees plus you will be required to register your name with a domain company. Account upgrades (i.e. from basic to domain) do not incur a setup fee. New domains are subject to a fee. Top of Page

How do I upgrade or modify my service?

Do you support Java and Javascript? What about server-side Java?
CMAIS.com supports all client-side languages, including Java and Javascript. Currently due to the lack of a stable and efficient Java engine for the BSD operating system we don't offer server side Java. If current engines improve we may consider this in the future. Top of Page

Do you support Cold Fusion, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Visual Interdev, VBScript, IIS, and Active Server Pages (ASP)?
CMAIS.COM is a Unix-only hosting solution. These technologies are restricted to Windows platforms, and are not included in CMAIS.COM service offerings. Top of Page

Does CMAIS.COM allow MP3 files?
Yes—some of our top clients are from the music entertainment industry. However, due to the legality of MP3's we can only allow that you upload MP3 files that you own the copyright to, or that are not copyrighted. Example: If your band wants a website, and would like to offer free downloads of your songs, that is fine. Top of Page

Can I transfer an existing domain to CMAIS.COM?
Yes. When you contact us, be sure to specify that you are requesting a transfer and NOT a new domain. You should keep the service at the present site while waiting for your domain provider to complete the transfer. We will provide you with an IP address so you can mirror the site on our server. All email and web pages will still be accessed from the current site. NOTE: You need to be able to receive e-mail at the address on file with register.com for your current domain name if it is a transfer. Top of Page

We will install the basic scripts for free. Any other type of scripts just email support@cmais.com with the name and function of the script and we would gladly quote you a price on script installation. Top of Page

How much would it cost to have a script modified to fit the design of my site?
We can modify your CGI or JavaScript to fit the design of your site, to help make your site look more professional. We charge at a hourly rate of $45.00 to adjust or modify your script to fit your site and to give it that professional look. On average we can do your script in under a hour for typical scripts.
